DONA YIM,
Artist
my name is
dona. I live in brisbane australia and I love it! After graduation,
denise and I made a trip to vietnam, the goal at the time was
to explore the idea of visual communication in a foreign country.
But looking back at it now, it was more self discovery for me.
I finally got to know the Vietnamese in me and the family that
was so far away living such a different life. That was a great
turning point. Really putting things into perspective, in terms
of priority in life. Don't get me wrong...i still moved back to
brisbane and got a full-time design job, half the time being a
mac-monkey, getting a pay-cheque every week and living day by
day. But I really enjoy my job, the people are great, I'm learning
how the industry works and saving money for bigger and better
things!
I got a new bike!!! With the cyclist pants and everything. I love
it so much. We go riding on the weekend, 50km ride in 3 hours,
soooooo good!
I also swim a lot!! I love that too....
I'm struggling with surfing, but it's nice enough to sit on the
board in the ocean at 6.30 in the morning...priceless...
I'm also playing golf...soooooo much fun. We just go to the driving-range
now to practice my swing but I think I'm getting good enough to
hit the course!!
I've also been doing freelance work. Lotus Gallery, my sister's
leatherware company in hong kong. Castleplex, my friend's development
company in australia. Retro on Merthyr, my friends bar/bistro
in australia. Also got into a partnership with my boss handbag
business!
