| About The Lifework
Studio |
 |
The Lifework
Studio was conceived with the notion of redefining the
common conventions of art based on the view that everyone
has creative power, which when tapped makes life more fulfilling
and joyful. Through
publications, exhibitions, and other public projects, an
affiliation of independent artists work to inspire originality,
beauty, and creative energy in themselves and in the widest
possible audience.
This has been the lifework of founder and director Adrienne
Leban, through her teaching, her visual art, and her essays
and activism for social and political progress which put
appreciation of individual uniqueness and creativity at
the center rather than the margins of
society.
Since 1969, Ms. Leban has taught thousands of
students her innovative and influential curricula which
include courses in Originality, Advertising and Graphic
Design for Social Change, and Media Communications at the
School of Visual Arts in New York City. She has written
and spoken on issues concerning art and consciousness,
visual
language, social change, and on finding the artist in everyone.
Ms. Leban has a Master of Arts from New York University.
